Meet Cori

meet cori.

Cori is yet another of my cherished new Today Show friends. I knew I had found a kindred spirit when I heard her voice a couple of onlookers over repeating over and over again, “This is so cool!” We bonded over her recent move to Santa Monica in the hopes of becoming an actress, and giggled over selfies with Hoda Kofi and Matt Lauer.

I am so inspired by women like Cori, women who take risks, reject fear, and embrace the unknown. I love traveling by myself, and I’m usually not one to shy away from a conversation or a new experience, but there are still times when I find myself saying no out of embarrassment or hesitation or pride, and carrying the regret later on. From the little time I have spent with Cori, I can see that she never hesitates, and embraces every situation and every human interaction with vigorous spirit and an open heart.

In that same spirit, Cori decided to come to Rio with her uncle, who moonlights as a professional pin trader during the Olympic Games. Despite being a pin trading newbie, Cori jumped right in to helping her uncle score fabulous pins. I expect by the end of the Games I’ll have a lot to learn from Cori about olympin trading technique.
