Fernanda and Gregorio were my most gracious hosts in Rio de Janeiro. They opened their lovely Copacabana home to me, and were more kind, generous, and loving than I could ever have imagined. I will miss them as much as I miss Rio.
One of my biggest regrets about my time in Rio is that my work at USA House and attending events created such a hectic schedule that I didn’t have much time to spend with them while I was there. I was lucky enough to have a few meals with them, and meet their lovely son Antonio, before he left for vacation in the north of Brazil. Both Gregorio and Fernanda had so much youthful energy and vigor, were so excited and supportive of my time in Rio, and were always there to offer a helping hand, share in my joy, and even make me coffee and tapioca in the morning.
To both of you, thank you to the moon and back again for everything you gave me in Rio and all you did to make my stay so warm, welcoming and wonderful. You always have a place to stay in San Francisco.
