Before I came to the Olympics, a colleague of mine forwarded me a photo of her cousin Vivianne, and told me to keep an eye out for her at the Olympic Games. She goes to every Olympics to trade pins, I was told. I had completely forgotten, as the chances of finding a single person at an event of this scale are pretty low. But if I’ve learned anything in life, it’s that the world is very small. While walking to Opening Ceremonies, I spotted Vivianne from a distance, and was so excited that I just about sprinted to her. We posed for a photo and I sent it along to my colleague! It’s so neat to meet people who have more Olympic spirit than I do; and I can confidently say, Vivianne will have me beat for all of eternity!
